Mercury(budh) empowerment Anushthan

In astrology, Mercury (Budh) is considered the primary significator of intellect, communication, business, logic, and mathematics. Among the five elements, it is associated with the Earth element, and its colour is green. The influence of Mercury has a profound impact on an individual's mental balance, oratory skills, commercial proficiency, and reasoning ability.

An auspicious and strong position of Mercury in the horoscope grants the individual a sharp intellect, excellent performance in education, success in business, and effective communication skills. On the other hand, a weak or afflicted Mercury causes confusion, mental stress, failure in business, and a decline in the ability to communicate. Due to the inauspicious effects of Mercury, a person may face physical problems such as loss of memory, headaches, skin diseases, seizures, and Kapha-Pitta imbalances.

If Mercury is weak in the horoscope, it becomes extremely essential to strengthen it. The most effective remedy to empower Mercury is the 'Budh Graha Balishth Anushthan', which is a powerful medium to reduce the inauspicious effects of Mercury and amplify its positive energy.

This ritual strengthens the energy of the planet Mercury (Budh), enabling the individual to receive all the positive qualities associated with Budh. With the blessings of Budh Grah, the person experiences enhanced communication skills, logical reasoning, mental peace, and progress in business. A strengthened Budh Grah brings success in every sphere of life, along with improved memory and decision-making abilities. Additionally, this ceremony helps to bring balance and prosperity into one’s life.

Why is this Anushthan necessary?

The Budh (Mercury) planet is directly connected to mental clarity, memory power, computational ability, and clarity of speech. If these abilities are weak in the horoscope, they can be strengthened through the Budh Balasth Anushthan (Mercury Strengthening Ritual).

Worship Procedure of Mercury(budh) empowerment Anushthan

In astrology, Mercury is the representative of intellect, logic, communication skills, mathematical understanding, and commercial proficiency. When Mercury is weak in an individual's horoscope, situated in an inauspicious house, afflicted by enemy planets, or when the Mahadasha/Antardasha of Mercury is active performing the Budh Graha Balishth Anushthan proves to be immensely beneficial.

This ritual begins with the systematic chanting of Ganesh Jap to ensure the destruction of all obstacles and the uninterrupted completion of the worship. Following this, the Budh Balishth Jap is performed using Vedic mantras to awaken the positive energy of Mercury, thereby strengthening its auspiciousness and influence within the horoscope.

This Anushthan is conducted through a specialized Vedic method, where the positive energy of Mercury is activated through Mantra Jap (chanting), Dashansh Jap, and Havan.

Preparation Before the Pooja

1. Selection of Place: The ritual is performed at a pure, peaceful, and sacred place—such as a temple, sacrificial fire, or any location where divine presence is felt.

2. Navagraha Worship and Kalash Installation: All nine planets (Navagrahas) are invited, and the ritual begins with the installation of the Kalash and worship of the Mandal. Special emphasis is given to invoking and worshiping Budh Grah (Mercury) according to proper procedures.

Main Worship Procedure

• Sankalp (Resolution): Qualified priests take a formal resolution including the name, gotra, place, uration, and purpose of the ritual on behalf of the yajman (devotee).

• Shodashopachar Poojan: A yantra or symbol of Budh Grah is installed and worshiped with purified water, Panchamrit, flowers, incense, lamps, naivedya (offering), and sixteen different types of offerings as per the Shodashopachar ritual.

• Vedic Mantra Chanting: The priests collectively chant the Vedic mantras of Budh. A total of 36,000 mantras are chanted, divided over the prescribed number of days to complete the ritual.

• Dashansh Japa and Havan: After completing the main chanting, one-tenth portion (3,600 times) of the mantra chanting is performed followed by the Havan. This Havan acts as a medium to channelize Budh’s energy into the devotee’s life.

• Purnahuti and Conclusion: At the end, the final oblation (Purnahuti) is offered, followed by Aarti and flower offerings (Pushpanjali). The ritual is formally concluded with the service of the priests, Dakshina (offering), and their blessings.
