The Story of Rameshwar Jyotirlinga

When Ravana abducted Goddess Sita and took her to Lanka, Lord Shri Ram arrived at the seashore along with Sugriva and the vast Vanara army.

Looking at the vast ocean, Lord Shri Ram began thinking:

• How to cross the ocean 

• How to defeat Ravana 

• How to rescue Goddess Sita 

At that moment, Shri Ram felt thirsty and asked the Vanaras to bring water.
