Namak- Chamak Rudrabhishek Anushthan

The Namak Chamak Abhishek Puja is a supreme ritual. It is considered the best among all rituals in Sanatan Dharma. Lord Shiva is bathed with roots, tubers, flowers, and sacred offerings, along with the five precious gems, during the Rudrabhishek Puja. Due to the frequent use of the word "Namah" in the mantras of the fifth chapter of the Rudra Ashtadhyayi, this chapter is called the Namakadhyay. This chapter begins with the word “Namaste.” The fifth chapter of Rudra Ashtadhyayi contains 66 mantras. Scholars call this chapter the principal chapter as well as the “Shatrudriya” chapter. The mantras in this chapter describe hundreds of forms of Lord Rudra. Similarly, in the eighth chapter, the letters “Cha” and “Ma” are repeatedly used, so this chapter is called the Chamakadhyay.

Bathing Lord Shiva by chanting the fifth and eighth chapters of Rudra Ashtadhyayi eleven times is called Namak- Chamak Rudrabhishek .

To fulfill all desires, worshipping only Sadashiva Rudra makes all the gods automatically pleased.

The Namak Chamak recitation is very important, and through this ritual, Lord Shiva becomes pleased immediately.

Who Should Perform the Namak- Chamak Rudrabhishek Anushthan?

Sometimes, a person may suffer from diseases that are incurable and untreatable, or they may undergo treatment but receive no benefit. At times, unknowingly, a person may commit sins whose atonement is impossible. If a person constantly lives in fear of untimely death or is troubled by long-standing legal battles, such individuals should definitely perform the Namak- Chamak Rudrabhishek ritual.

One should never have any doubt about the benefits of this ritual because even the Vayu Purana describes the greatness of Namak- Chamak Rudrabhishek , stating that by performing this ritual, a person attains a revered place in Brahmalok (the abode of Brahma).

Those who regularly perform this ritual by applying sacred ash (Bhasma) on their bodies or by controlling their senses are freed from diseases and sins and attain extraordinary happiness.
