Kalratri Saptami

On the seventh day of Sharadiya or Chaitra Navratri, Maa Kalratri, the seventh form of Maa Durga, is worshipped. Kali Mata kills the wicked. Her form is very fierce, but she always gives auspicious results to her devotees. That's why his name is also Shumbhankari. He has three eyes, his complexion is black, and his hair is open, he is wearing a Mund rosary around his neck. He is riding on Gadarbha. For the welfare of the gods and humans, the Mata had assumed a terrible form. This form of Mata symbolizes the victory of good over evil.

Their appearance and form have been mentioned in Shri Durga Saptashati. According to this, they have emerged twice. For the first time, at the behest of Shumbha and Nishumbha, when Chand Mund came to capture Mata Jagdambika, Mata Ambika became very angry after seeing him, due to which her face turned black and a fierce Kali appeared from her body, which appeared with a sword in her hands and other strange weapons. Kali was wearing a leopard skin saree and had a garland of Narmunda around her neck. The flesh of her body was dry and only the skeleton of bones remained, due to which she looked extremely frightened. Her mouth was very huge, her eyes were red and sunken inside and she looked very scary because of her long, lolling tongue. Kali destroyed the entire army including Chand Munda in a moment, due to which he was named 'Chamunda'. The second time when Shumbha Nishumbh sent his demon Raktabeej to fight with Maa Jagadambika, Jagadambika attacked Raktabeej but Raktabeej had a boon that if even a single drop of his blood falls on the earth, then another Raktabeej demon equally powerful as him will appear. Therefore, every time Maa Jagadambika attacks, many Raktabeej demons like her are born. Seeing this, Maa Jagadambika again invoked Mata Kali. On the call of Mata Jagadambika, Kali appeared again and filled her mouth with the blood of Raktabeej before it fell on the ground. In this way, Maa Kali destroyed all the demons born from the blood of Raktabeej including Raktabeej and thus she became famous by the name of Kaalratri. Worshiping her destroys fear. She is the goddess of war. All the evil powers get scared and run away after seeing her form.

This Goddess is in the form of intelligence in all living beings. This same Goddess is present in all living beings in the form of sleep, this same Goddess is present in all living beings in the form of hunger, this same Goddess is present in all living beings in the form of shadow, this same Goddess is present in all living beings in the form of Shakti. Navratri Puja is a nine-day festival of various forms of Goddess Durga. In these days, small girls are considered as the form of Mata .

During the entire Navratri festival, it is very fruitful and auspicious to feed these girls in the form of Durga and donate their favourite things or things as per one's capacity.

During the Nauratri festival, it is auspicious to feed and donate food to the girls for all nine days, but if you are short of time and cannot feed the girls every day, then donate food and items to the girls on any day of the nine days.

This tradition has been going on since ancient times and it also has great social importance. This means that Sanatan society has always considered men and women equal. According to Sanatan Dharma, male power is completely useless without female power.

A woman plays a more important role in the upliftment of her family than a man plays in the upliftment of a family or lineage. Thus, this festival shows the importance of women in the society and the importance of the girl child in the house.
