Solar Eclipse 2025
A solar eclipse is an astronomical event that occurs when the Moon completely or partially comes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking the Sun’s light either fully or partially. During this period, the Sun’s rays do not reach the Earth, and darkness prevails for a short time. From a scientific perspective, this event happens due to the position of the Sun, Earth, and Moon. From a religious perspective, it is considered highly spiritual. By following certain rules during this time, one can gain positive energy and protect oneself from negative effects.
How does a solar eclipse occur?
The Earth revolves around the Sun and the Moon revolves around the Earth. When the Moon comes between the Sun and Earth, it blocks the Sun’s rays from reaching Earth. This phenomenon happens only on the new moon day (Amavasya), and during this time the Sun either gets partially or completely hidden.
Types of Solar Eclipse
1. Total Solar Eclipse – When the Moon covers the Sun completely, a part of the Earth experiences daytime darkness as if it were night.
2. Partial Solar Eclipse – When the Moon covers only a part of the Sun, and the rest of the Sun remains visible.
